This is what my AP United States History class has been assigned for the rest of the year, and gee golly. It's so much fun I might explode. Basically, I have to post every two days for the next 2 weeks about a historical event, and comment on the other blogs my classmates have made. I'm going to try to pick topics that are interesting and obscure, so that I at least get something out of this besides snores.
So, my first post should probably include some history.
My first little-known history gem is about cults in America, a cult called Bohemian Grove. This cult has had very distinguished members, including every republican president since 1923, and a few democratic presidents as well.
Here's a picture of their wierdo initiation ceremony, in which a member to be inducted is fake-cremated.
This west-coat based cult has been behind many huge parts of history--it's rumored that at a Bohemian Grove meeting, the beginning ideas for the Manhattan Project were formed.
Well, that's all for today :|
All sarcastic comments aside - nice post!

I think I fam starting to feel like a dictator and or slave owner of the slave days with how I am forcing you into this atrocious assignment! I might have to rethink my strategy to have to put you through these horrible acts of thinking!
:)
In all actuality - I like your post - educational, good pic, good info about the Manhattan Project, etc. - however, are you implying this blog to a cult? Is this the critcal thinking I'm suppose to get out of this?
:)
Mr. K,
ReplyDeleteThis isn't a connection between forced blogging and cults :P I just like cults because theyre cmoething you never really learn about in a normal history course.
(Just like a normal history class wouldn't include blogging) :P
I like how sarcastic you are :) funny funny.
ReplyDeletehow did you find out about this cult?
Dude! Ben Henning did a presentation in APLit about a similar group that presidents, world leaders, and big business people are in and they basically plan the path of the free-world. Any connection here?
